pieces for the Inaugural show 'Elevation'
at the new Limited Addiction gallery in Denver. 02/17.

'osasoi' 11"x20"

'sukoshi dake' 11"x16.5"

i had fun with the first one.
but the second one was difficult,
and took longer than expected.

ive been trying to enjoy and explore the process more lately.
alltho the outcome may work or not work...

next series is for the girls show at Thinkspace in May.
must make new approaches. new ideas.
elaborate settings maybe. space. enviroment.
in a room. in the woods. fields...
chairs. wallpaper. wood floor....
red and grey. pink and grey.
animals. scissors. utensils. an instrument.
hmmmmmm~...

Lovely pieces. :) May I ask -- what do you prime your wood with before you paint on it?

Liquitex acrylic gel medium. matte.
comes in bottles. white and green lable.

this ones goes on pretty smoothly.
if streeks happen you can sand it down when dry.

i love how you have a cross hatch like detail in your figures, do you do this with brush? I'm assuming this is oil, but it looks so light like pastel. It's really beautiful :)

Beautiful stuff. Ya just keep getting better, y'know?

Something about them always cuts me in a weird way. It has an impact that's somewhere between a breath and an imperceptible cut. Its neat.

Beautiful, I always love the colours you use in your work... In fact, I used your paintings as an example in my sketchbook for fantastic use of subtle colour, the way it makes an otherwise - I don't want to say faint, but I can't think of another word right now- faint colour look bold. =)

yeah im more drawn to images that are low key tones.
alltho i admire people who can pull of a strong image using brihgt colors.

I just woke up and when I saw sukoshi dake, through my blurry eyes, for a second I thought that the vines were Japanese calligraphy. That would be cool.
