so beautiful. this is one of my favorites.
i think it may be because more of the wood is exposed.
and your nipples are always ace! :P

this is actually a cutting board i found at ikea!
the grains are more bolder and wilder than the usual ones i use.

You know, the first one looks Noir, the second one looks like if you did a show at a "Salon" gallery... :)

GOD i love everything you do! this is so beautiful.
you're on my top three favorite artists.
what do you use for the color? i honestly can't even take a very good guess at the medium.

how much do you sell original pieces for?
or do you have prints available anywhere?

i use thin coats of oilpaint.
prices vary with size.
some prints are still left here:

more should be coming out soon. ;)

I bet someone has laid claim to that already. Just stunning.

I may need to stop by tomorrow. So many things to do on St Patty day.

OH! I LIKE this! Not only are the wood grains bolder, but there's something kind of powerful about this girl. I really like her attitude and think this is extremely gorgeous. More! More!

If I may ask, do you use oil paint for the black line or another medium?
the texture in the colors of her face are mesmerizing

some of it is just the pencil showing thru.
and some i go over with thin paint.
usually mix raw-umber and ultramarine-blue and a little but of titanium-white.

Amazing! You really should work on more work with metal imagery. I'm loving how the scissors stand out from the young lady's skin tone. I want to see what you can do outside of your comfort zone. You are certainly one of my favorite modern artists. I'm always impressed, and inspired by your work.

Owning a piece of yours is up there with speaking fluent Russian and playing the cello as one of my life's ambitions.

On your larger ones, how do you get/cut wood with the big round edges? I mean, is there somewhere where that's just available, or are you finding some way to get that done custom or what?

Not that it really matters, but I am sorta curious.

:D

March 18 2007, 23:36:14 UTC 5 years ago

i find the wood and cut it myself with hand-saw,
and smooth it out with sander.
