~a new year~
hello!
i feel like i havent been here in a while.
so here are some updates. ;)

an article/interview by Josh Herman, for Artillery Magazine, just got uploaded.
its a unique and interesting read, and can be found here.
the actual printed magazine will have more of a condensed, focused review of the entire 'Drawing Room' show.

and
Bryan's photo friend, Lou Noble, asked to do an interview.
i was surprisingly in the rare moods to comply, so i said yes.
check it at the Back Alley Tabernacle.

Lou takes lovely photos/portraits of lovely people.
checkout his website, his flickr, and blog.
its intriguing how all his flickr photos are accompanied by his writing.

(above is Laura Taylor, who frequently models for Lou.
i think she kind of resembles my girls.)

currently, working on a new piece for Outre Gallery in Melbourne, Australia, in February.
this will be a print show, along with one original, that will be an exclusive print edition with the gallery.
i wish i can fly over there for the show, but i will have to wait till next year, when i have the bigger show there.

also!
those of you who are still waiting for the Two Sisters print,
all orders, including internationals, have been shipped out last monday.
we did not send individual emails with tracking numbers,
but you can request one by writing us as mail@audrey-kawasaki.com.
Thankyou!

Cannot WAIT for your show at the Outre Gallery! I'm from Sydney and I stumbled upon the news - very coincidentally I will be in Melbourne on February 13th! So exciting, but of course it'd be more so if you were there :)

definitely a different style of AK eyes than I'm used to. Very beautiful, it increases the complexity of the girls and raises the bar even higher. Audrey, was it a conscious decision to evolve the way you portray the eyes? Or am I crazy? Does she have a name yet? (tsubasa?)

Your new piece looks amazing. I love how you talk about your Girs being alive. That really struck me because that's a staple in Native (American Indian) ways of thinking: That songs and paintings and other pieces of art are not only alive, but sovereign, and coming from some other place, and only being used for what they want to be, etc.

I look forward to seeing more of your girls and I hope they keep coming to you forever and ever. :)
