Tokyoooooo!

my first show in Japan is coming up soon!
the show title is 'Watching Shadow' ~かげぼうし~, at Space Yui gallery.
Opening night is 5/7 thurs. and runs till 5/16 sat.

i will be showing 10 new pieces,
a few past sold-out prints.
along with the release of an exclusive print edition.

ロスアンジェルス在住の全米若手アーティストの中でも一番注目されているオードリー川崎の日本での初個展。幼い頃から愛読していたマンガのスタイルとアールヌーボー様式から影響を受けた彼女のスタイルが現在のトレンドと融合し幅広いファン層を獲得しました。個展開催にあたり、作品が発表されていないにも関わらず、既にウェイティングリストへの希望が殺到、という異例の状況となっております。オードリー川崎も会期に合わせて来日、オープニングパーティーには出席します。

Ahh! This is so exciting! I wish you all kinds of luck! (you're awesome and don't need it, but it seems like the thing to say)

I have several friends in Japan. I will be sure and tell them to see your show if they're in Tokyo during that time! (it's at the end of golden week, right?)

You just keep getting better and better. Each new piece makes me even more excited to see the next. I *love* the postcard and banner images. I hope you'll be showing these in NYC too.

I was wondering, I'm doing an analysis of your career for my Sociology class (does that sound creepy or what? haha). Is there any chance I can ask you a few questions regarding your education, important dates for your career, how did your work become so well-known in such a short time-span, etc? My teacher thought you were a rather curious case ;)

Hey, girl! Come to Brazil someday. Really. I always get amazed by your pieces, they're all so sweetly strong! We here would be glad to have such a deep show in our country. This art of yours is such a great fusion of the demons inside (or whatever people and you prefer to call it) with the global culture. I mean, not about a nowadays thing, nothing technological or this way. But images from anytime anywhere. It's possible to notice this on the details all around the pieces. A sort of art wich makes feelings come to light. You know what you're doing.

There's something in the postcard image I've never really seen in your work. It's got a 3D sorta space to it, and it's GORGEOUS.
