Arthur Rackham's illustrations for Alice and Wonderland.
anyone know of a good site full of all his works?

speaking of Alice,
Chros Appelhans does his own adaptation of alice. it would be incredible if this were to become a film!!!

i love this rackham stuff.
though they're not as well known as the john tenniel ones which have become the most iconic. perhaps because they are more graphic.

(look at the way her hand grasps the pig's foot)

yes, but i don't think tenniels's alice is as pretty as rackham's....

i think the pig's foot grasp was probably unconscious.
i don't know what could have been on arthur's mind ;)

The first illustrations were done by Lewis Carroll himself (you can get copies of these with some versions in print still-usually under the original title before it was renamed alice in wonderland)-he then showed them To Tenniel to base his drawings on.

Chris Appelhans is my hero. XD He made a sweet short and sings to guitar too. The guy does it all. @,@

I'm really loving Rackham's Alice illustrations...I wonder where I can find more of him.... Ah, how I'd love to do something like that, such awesome texture and drawing.

Er, yeah, Chris, actually =) He's incredible and did the cover to this volume's Flight. His story in the first volume was quite lovely.

And of course, so is Arthur Rackham!!
