..............
still workin on these girls.
ive decided on a name for the installation.
'The Karakuri Sisters'

its definetely difficult to work larger.
its hard to see them as a whole image.
i need to make some decisions now,
as to what else to incorporate with them,
and how to make them come together...
i hope this all works out...
along with the four sisters,
i plan to do a few smaller paintings
and a couple drawings.
the show is September 8th.
@ThinkSpace gallery in LA.
yup yup.

Amazing
I love the eyes on the girls. Octo girls are my favourite. There's something about them that just really captures the soul.August 25 2006, 22:13:16 UTC 5 years ago

I'd really love to see some in-depth process shots (or even a tutorial!) from you. Seeing how things work with great artists is always a treat. :)

After viewing your website, I wondered if you used your own face as a reference to your work. You look so simiar to the faces you draw that mayhaps you do, or perhaps you're drawing/painting familiar shapes?
Oh, keep it up. I hope to afford a print one day. You're an absolute inspirtion to me. :D

As far as connecting the three. What if they were simply mounted on something - it could be as simple as a canvas on a wall or a larger wood piece, with some sort of background, blue with the butterflies, to match - or some "setting" so that the three girls are part of a scene. That way, they remain unique and each a separate entity, yet also a part of something bigger.
Or keep them as they are, variations on a theme.

these girls are actually for a wall installation.
sketches of it here:
http://i-seldom-do.livejournal.com/9606
so i plan to have a foresty backdrop
with red leaves/petals blowing from right to left.
the color of the trees owuld be a muted greyish blue,
so the girls warm color would pop out.
