the group show at Thinkspace was crazy successful.
so many people showed up, that they nearly filled the whole block!

Thinkspace Gallery recently had an article in the LA Times this last thursday.
online here. pretty amazing!



a few months ago i did an album cover illustration for Alice Smith.
she seems to be getting pretty good review, so thats pretty amazing too!



-thoughts-
working veritically large was a tough one.
im glad i did it. but next time, i need a change of plans.
large and horizontal, with backdrop scenery sounds like fun.
allthough i feel pretty wiped out,
i still feel inspired, and new ideas keep popping up.

projects for the coming week:
-to redesign my site (which is rediculously overdue...)
-to design a shirt for Oddica
-to get passport, for a month long journey in november (i'll tell you about it more later) ;)

I loved the album cover too!
I loved the cover so much I bought the album even though its not my taste. My favourite song is Woodstock.
Do you think she listened to the songs before drawing the cover?

the paitings itself took about a month to do. all four of them.
the wall stuff was just a few days. :)

Wow, I saw the cover of the Alice Smith CD on a music site a few weeks ago and went "Hey that sure as hell looks like Audrey Kawasaki's works!" so thanks for confirming!
And I'd kill to have my room look like that.

i am fathomed by those lips of the girl with her eyes shut and her tongue sticking out at the side. they look almost bubble gum like, i want to touch it and see if it's for real.

everything is fantastic, i want to see one of the shows one day. :)

Oi - it's about 2:30 am and I am about to try to sleep but just had to tell you how gorgeous the installation came out. Oh my God what an amazing show and I LOVE your presentation. I really like how the pipe mimics the rounded corners on your painting, or vice versa. Those little skulls are cute as a button.

omg, i couldn't get in. The place was sooo crowded. Thank you for posting pictures though!!! I love the display.
