. Artists Help Japan .

~ Ema Art Auction for Artists Help Japan Earthquake & Tsunami Fund - Give2Asia ~

my friend, Christina Conway, has organized an art auction to help Japan.
artists were asked to paint on an 'ema', which are small wooden tablets left at Japanese shrines,
usually with an image on one side and a handwritten wish or prayer on the other.

see more info here.
see the auctions here.

more artists are being added daily.
(just got word that Edwin Ushiro, Stella Im Hultberg, Ken Garduno, and more are being added.)
so, be sure to check back!

important!
the whole point of this is to raise money and help spread awareness.
its NOT about getting a good deal "steal", so please be generous and bid when you see something you like.
"It's about contributing to an important cause and getting a "Thank You" in return with original art. These are talented artists that donated 100% of their time, creativity and proceeds for help with the recovery of Japan due to the recent Earthquake, Tsunami and Nuclear Reactor Emergencies. Please bid generously and avoid "sniping". MANY MANY THANKS! ~Sincerely, Christina Conway/Curator"

6"x4" oil and graphite and ink on wood panel
you can bid for this piece here.

Thankyou to Christina and artists and everyone who helped support!!!

really lovely... and sincere intentions.
Your participation in this means more than I can express in words. I highly respect your work and choice of group projects you contribute to. So many amazing artists have paused their work to create an ema and donate to this auction. It makes every part of this project a true work of love. I hope we see a difference soon in Japan, one of recovery instead of sadness. Makes me feel very fortunate for so many things and this project shows what amazing and caring people I know. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT IS CONNECTED TO THIS AUCTION.

I know there are lots of galleries in the LA area still looking for donations for charity shows. You might just Google and see if you can find one. That way, your piece will be more likely to sell rather than being somewhere on eBay. Hope this helps!
wonderful idea :D
That is really awesome. Your piece is already over $1k.

hello audrey. i really like your work :)
x, ally.
Искал реферат в Яндексе, и набрел на эту страницу. Немного информации по моей теме реферата набрал. Хотелось бы побольше, да и на том спасибо!

Красивый сайт! Все стильно сделано.
I know this sounds a little strange, but I would like to help in anyway I can (seeing as many members of my family are still missing and have passed away in this event.) I have given as much money and support to my relatives as I can, but I actually think I really want to make one of these to help the cause.

Do you know how I can get in contact with the person in charge to request I create a piece?
contact Christina Conway, either on her blog (linked above) or message her on facebook.
she's taking art donations for another few days. ;)
